Any AppleShare® volume can be mounted with the Mounty™ Extension.
To create a Mounty QuicKey
1) Open QuicKeys 2 and select “Mounty” from the Extensions submenu. The Mounty Extension dialog box will appear.
2) Click the “Choose Server” button, the Choose Server dialog box will appear. Select the zone and server you want this QuicKey to select. You also can type in the zone name and the server name. Type in the volume name, exactly as it appears in the Chooser window, and any passwords required. QuicKeys 2 automatically enters the user name.
Note: Check the “Ask password when connecting” check box if you need to restrict access to the data on the AppleShare server. Check the “Connect as Guest” check box if you do not have a specific user account on your AppleShare server.
3) Press the Tab key until the “Keystroke:” field is highlighted. Type in the keystroke you want. Mounty automatically names the QuicKey “Mounty”. You will want to change the name if you have more than one volume.
4) Click “OK”.
If you receive an error message telling you that QuicKeys 2 cannot find the zone or server you named, open the Mounty Extension dialog box. Check the spelling, spacing and punctuation of the zone, server and volume names.
If the AppleShare software is turned off or is not installed on your Macintosh, Mounty will not work.
